Very exciting day, Saturday 16, 2009. Veronica Sangaline (Vee) won EPSC Champion, Junior Speed for 2009 Season. Veronica was aboard her Palomino, Eagle Trace (Trigger) of Whispering Woods Farm. Attached are pics of her and her Buckle Award.
Also, Cindy Fleck (One of Vees best friends and my "adoptive" daughter) won Third Place in EPSC Junior Division Pole Bending. Cindy was aboard her leased horse, Dexter (Quarter/Morgan Cross) of Whispering Woods Farm. Attached are pics of her in her Award, a beautifully embroidered sweatshirt, and on her horse Dex.
Veronica started barrels and poles for the EPSC in the beginning of the season and then was asked to join the National Barrel Horse Association and moved up very quickly. Veronica is moving past Trigger’s skills in barrels, so we are looking for a good barrel horse for her. Trigger shows great skill at poles and will now become her pole bending horse.
Cindy started barrels and poles for the EPSC in the beginning of the season on Dexter who would barely trot the courses and with continued work Cindy now has him loping barrels. Dexter showed well in poles, so Cindy worked him at poles. Cindy’s skills have improved greatly this season and will be moving to a faster horse for barrels soon and continue to ride Dex in the poles.
Their Trainer is BobiJo Schwartz who barrel races at the National Level. She is an awesome trainer who even got this old gal turning barrels (not as good as Vee and Cin) but I still have fun!
